The Bears advance to State Championship with 42-35 win over Centennial!

La Cueva put together two of the most impressive game winning performances on Saturday to finish the 4th quarter strong. After the Bears Defense forced a Hawks punt, Aiden Armenta took over with 6 1/2 minutes left in the game on the Bears 14 yard line. Senior running back, Gabriel Buie, chewed up yardage and clock scoring from 1 yard out on the 13 play, 86 yard drive, that lasted just under 5 minutes leaving Centennial with only 1:35 to work with. Now up 42-35, the La Cueva D got their chance to step-up. And they performed brilliantly! After a few solid Centennial plays, the Bears pass rush started getting into the backfield. On the final defensive play of the game, the D line broke through, hitting the Hawk quarterback and forcing an errant backward pass that the Bears recovered to seal the victory! Fantastic outing Bears! TAKE STATE!

La Cueva to square off against Cleveland for the State Championship!

On Saturday, 26 November, the Bears will host the Cleveland Storm at Wilson Stadium for the 2022 6A Football State Championship. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00pm on what is forecast to be perfect fall football weather. After an impressive win down in Las Cruces, the Bears look to have all the pieces in place to finish off this State Championship run! GO BEARS!
